HEB- Go See It

February Go See It was a tour of a grocery store. The boys learned about the food pyramid and there were SAMPLES! Everyone knows the way to a Tiger Scout's heart is through his stomach.

Pinewood Derby

The highlight of every Cub's year is Pinewood Derby!

Waiting outside before the weigh-in. We went for an understated Tiger Scout themed car and thought we would win the coveted Best Scout Design Award. Unfortunately Boy Scouts were giving out the prizes and as everyone know teen boys don't get "understated"!

The very important weigh in. Our car was right on target. It is always funny to watch the dads....I mean boys.....working at the last moment trying to get the weight just right!

Sam place his car on the track. The winning car won by .001 second. How's that for timing!

Police Station - Go See It

Police station was a a big hit for the boys. They were a little disappointed that they did not get to see the jail inmates but LOVED the police car.

Stephen F. Austin

We headed to Stephen F. Austin for a weekend family campout. IT was COLD! Temp was low 30s at night and hi 50s-lo 60s during the day. Sam learned how to make donuts over coals and how to tie a square knot and a clover hitch knot. He played flashlight tag at night and football during the day with all the scouts. He went on a long hike with the park ranger. He had a great time and is looking forward to going on the next campout.

The first night ( that was the coldest!) he was the ONLY Tiger scout camping. He is hoping that he gets the polar bear patch!

Pack Meeting

Sam receives his Bobcat the same night Big Bro received his Eagle. Sam was so proud of his awards!

Rocket Day

Days of building and painting for Sam's first Scouting event. Dad and Sam headed off to Rocket Day at the park on a beautiful Fall morning. Sam was a little unsure of the rockets when they first started to blast off but by the end of the event he was having a blast. Sam's rocket was the star of the show. His rocket didn't have a large enough engine bay so his rocket did loops and crashed instead of blasting off. The kids loved it!

His favorite part of the day was when he was on the recovery team and he had the opportunity to chase and return the rockets after blast off. Mom and Charlotte enjoyed the show as well....Scouting is a family activity!
